Jonny & Danielle couldn’t have asked for a better day for their late December winter wedding at the Conservatory. The weather was perfect, and we got that once in a lifetime sunset for their portraits.
Since their wedding was so close to Christmas (December 28, 2013), Danielle wanted to try to avoid as much “holiday” as she could. She opted for gorgeous shades of plum and purple, with compliments of silver.
The ceremony was at The Conservatory in Historic St. Charles, MO, with the reception right up the street at the Heart of St. Charles Banquet Center.
We used all the gorgeous scenery along Main Street for portraits, and after that epic sunset, we headed to Ameristar Casino to finish up the photos. The Heart of St. Charles is right smack dab next to Ameristar- we spent the entire wedding day within about one square mile, which is pretty unbelievable!

So this is that epic sunset- I know, right! This was my first (and so far only) epic sunset while shooting a wedding

Depending on which direction we faced, the sky was constantly changing.

The sunset. The dip kiss. The lights. This is like, Pinterest wedding photo jackpot.

I like catching couples dancing NOT during the first dance. They’ve kinda let their guard down and it’s a little more intimate than the actual first dance, with the whole reception staring at you.
