Whether you’re a couple or a family, the best thing about life is your loved ones, right

One of the best ways to remember this certain time in your life is by capturing photos of you all. However, the main problem with most couples and families is there is usually one of you missing from the photograph because one of you has to take it!

Plus, I bet when you do ask your loved ones to pose, which they don’t exactly want to and force a smile. If this sounds like you then it is normal and as a photographer in St. Louis, I love helping people like you feel comfortable and at ease for a natural photoshoot.

We can take your photos in your home, in an outdoor location or in my studio! During this blog, I want to tell you the importance of indoor portraits in my photography studio in St. Louis, MO.

4 Reasons Why Indoor Portraits are Important

  • The lighting is perfect
  • Wardrobe changes are made easier
  • Indoor portraits are timeless
  • You can relax

The lighting is perfect

Lighting can mean the difference between high-quality indoor portraits and poor photos.

Natural lighting is manipulated when we do outdoor shoots. However, we are limited in ways that indoor photos are not– we must plan photoshoots around the sun’s schedule, not our clients. Plus, the sun can be quite harsh at times, which shows in the photos!

In your home, it may be hard to find great lighting, again, especially if the weather outside is miserable and you do not have much natural light shining through into your home.

In my photography studio in St.Louis, MO, I can create the ideal lighting at any time of day, which means we can fit you in at your preferred time.

I can create a wider range of looks and adjust the lighting to ensure that everyone looks their best– controlled lighting is so much more flattering and you’ll appreciate that!

Wardrobe changes are made easier

A wardrobe change is an excellent way to change up your indoor portraits– it is good to switch up your outfits for a variety of images.

Getting changed can be difficult during an outdoor portrait session as you lack privacy and there may be no place to change, or you may have to change in a shady public restroom.

An indoor portrait session in my photography studio solves this problem.

In addition to clean restrooms, you can get changed comfortably!

Indoor portraits are timeless

Family portraits should be about your loved ones, not the latest fashion trends or the fake smiles to appear as a perfect family. A portrait photographer, like me, can create a timeless aesthetic in an indoor setting.

I can customize backdrops and props for your family, and in a true editorial style, I will make changes as your personality shines through. Your quirks and interactions will combine to create an album of images that your family will treasure for generations.

You can relax

Indoor portraits in my photography studio eliminate the need to walk through fields and forests in search of the ideal location.

There’s no need to be concerned about your kids getting dirty before we even take a photo and there will be no staring at the clouds and wondering if it will rain.

You don’t need to worry about overheating or frizzy hair and you only need to get dressed and show up.

Distractions not only add stress, but they also prevent you from being fully present with your family. And, rain or shine, they can cast a shadow over what should be a joyful day of celebration with your loved ones.

Your entire portrait session is shielded from outside distractions in a controlled, indoor setting and if you aren’t an outdoorsy person anyway, this is important to you!

I will set up the scene, makes any necessary adjustments, and photograph the real moments that happen naturally.

Are you ready to book your indoor portrait session?

Whether you want to celebrate an engagement or a milestone or you simply want to capture the memories with your loved ones then this is your sign to stop holding back and book your session!

Now you know the importance of indoor portraits in my photography studio in St. Louis, MO you should feel confident knowing it is the right environment for you.
