Kids + Family

A few weeks ago, I got to spend the evening with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law and my ridiculously good looking niece and nephews, taking family pictures on St. Charles Main Street.

It seems like just yesterday that my first niece Madi was born- and now she’s 6! I remember when Brendan was 6, and Uncle Andy and I would take him to the bookstore for Captain Underpants books. Now he’s 15, almost 16. What happened?!?! I can’t believe how fast they’re all growing up! That’s why, at least once a year, I force them all to get family pictures. (And this is why you should, too!)

For the longest time, Brendan and Madi were my only niece and nephew… then along came the rest! Can you believe that I’ll soon be up to 9?! Crazy!

I love the evening light on Main Street in St. Charles… It makes everything glow.

little boy and train

Collin loved the train- as almost all little kids do. That’s why St. Charles Main Street is a great spot for family pics- there’s so many different things there, many of which is kid-appealing.

I love shooting on the railroad tracks for a different perspective.

They weren’t feeling the group sibling pics yet… they warmed up pretty quickly though.

She looks so sweet and innocent here… if you only knew, lol

I love the willow tree in Frontier Park. But then again, I just love willow trees.

Collin is such a goofball! He finally cooperated for one, though.

I love pairing pictures together in the way I imagine them hanging on a wall… Madi will get her own showcase with one you’ll see in just a sec.

teenage boy sitting on stairs

He is so tall and his favorite aunt is so short… I had to have him sit to get a good picture of him!

I cannot believe how tall and how handsome he has gotten! He changes overnight, I tell ya!

big brother and little sister sitting on stairs

Love this one of them together! Brendan is the absolute best big brother any kid could ever want! He has the patience of his father, who was also a big brother :)

This one of them together is my absolute favorite of the bunch! I think this one will definitely have to be included on the Christmas card this year!

Daddy and his little girl! Every dad and every little girl should have a shot or two like this!

I love silly family pictures. As I said before, Collin is such a goofball, and that really shows here. It’s more “real” than if everyone just stared at the camera (but I still do take a few like that!)

More silly ones… I know, I know, but I love it!

He’s goofy… but he can also be serious. The many faces of Collin.

children jumping

I told Collin to jump for me, and I’d take a picture and show him. Then Madi wanted to jump, too.

They were having the best time jumping, and then looking at the pictures of themselves jumping.

These pictures crack me up!

When did Madi get so grown up again?

I love this one of her! I think one of these, and maybe the close up from the last one belong as their own arrangement!

He was explaining something about dinosaurs to me…

…and then he was making fart noises.
