Lauren + Patrick
St Charles Conservatory Garden House Wedding
How they met // The Love Story
We met through our friends Sarah and Daren at Exit 6 in Cottleville. I didn’t think anything of it at first. Patrick said he knew the minute he saw and got to know me.
The Venue
We both love the conservatory once we saw it. Love the smallness, the green house feel and the location.
The Christy was a no brainer. The food was the best we had tried (and the cheapest). Ron who owns the Christy could not have been any nicer. He didn’t use his salesman expertise to try to win our business. He was great to work with.
Décor + Details
Decor was simple! I didn’t have much at the Christy. Everything we had used was from around my mom’s house. Haha.
We used the Christy’s centerpieces bc I’m too cheap to spend money on them.
What She Wore
My dress is by Allure that came from White Traditions Bridal House in st Charles. Trying on dresses was nerve racking. I felt comfortable in the dress which wasn’t heavy at all so that was a bonus. I loved the buttons going down the back. It was simple and not extravagant. The price was right too since it was on the sale rack.
What He Wore
He wore a suit from Savvy. I don’t think it was any sort of designer. I let Patrick do all that and he did good.
The Ceremony
Andrew Little who was our officiant met Patrick and I at a bread co one evening and went thru his options of what type of ceremonies he does. I am a friend of his wife’s so he made everything seemed real simple and easy going.
The day of I wasn’t nervous until I walked down the aisle.
I had to laugh while we were pouring the sand bc we didn’t discuss how fast or slow we’d go. I went super fast and Patrick still had half the bottle to pour in I felt. Oops!
Music // Reception // Party
I just wanted to relax and have a good time. I think everything went as planned and everyone had a great time.
The Photographer (Jaimie!)
Jaimie’s the best I know. It was a no brainer. I asked her what days she was available in September then planned every thing around what days she had open. Haha.
I love her work that I see on social media and kept showing Patrick her pics he got more and more excited to see Jaimie.
Advice to Couples Planning Their Wedding
It’s your day. No one else’s.
Be reasonable with pricing…don’t go overboard. People are there to eat, drink and to celebrate. Cheers!
