Katie & Nick tied the knot on Labor Day Weekend at their Old Hickory Golf Club wedding.  Nearly all of their wedding decor was DIY, including the aisle sign and the adorably cute centerpieces!

It was an insanely hot weekend, but you’d never know it by the photos!  Katie was stunning all day :)  Their ceremony was one of my all time favorites.  The high humidity made the light absolutely glowy and amazing.

The couple did a first look on the golf course, then we stayed around the golf club for photos so we could keep popping back into the air conditioning to cool down.  Katie’s dad was kind enough to keep his SUV running and cooled down for us when we were shooting in spots a little further out from the buildings.

The ceremony took place on the golf course, in a shady spot under a few trees.  As I mentioned before, the light during the ceremony was breathtaking!  The minister perfectly weaved the couple’s story into the ceremony.  There wasn’t a dry eye left at the end of wedding!

After the ceremony, guests headed back up to the club house in golf carts for an appetizer reception.  (There were like, four different kinds of dips, including spinach artichoke, which is my favorite.  It was all delicious!)  Nick & Katie wanted to optimize the amount of time they were able to spend with their guests, and the low-key hors d’oeuvres reception allowed them to do just that.  It was important to them that they be able to spend a ton of time with their families and friends, many of which came in from out of town.

Instead of a wedding cake, the couple served their favorite concretes from Sheridans Custard, which is where they met.  Katie and Nick had parked next to each other in the parking lot.  As they walked to the order window, they commented that they were both driving the same kind of car.  The two ended up sitting at a table together, chatting with each other as they finished their custard.
And the rest is history :)

Katie also surprised Nick with a groom’s cake, and their favors were popcorn from Poptions.

The sunset was stunning, and Katie & Nick allowed me to steal them away for a few moments to get an epic sunset photo of the two of them :)

Congrats again, Katie & Nick!  Your Old Hickory Golf Club wedding was absolutely perfect!
