Caitlin & Zach’s Laid Back Little Piney Lodge Wedding

The First Date

Leading up to Little Piney Lodge Wedding was the first date Caitlin & Zach shared together.

Our first date was very casual. We weren’t “officially” dating yet, because Zach was away at basic training for the Army National Guard, but we had been writing to each other and it was known there were feelings… He got two weeks of leave for Christmas, and he invited me to see him and meet his family for a couple days after the holiday. When I got there, he took me to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant and then we went to see the new Hobbit Movie. Later we played UNO with his parents and younger siblings that night and the rest is history!

About the Proposal

Also very casual. We knew we would get married, it was just a matter of time. We realized last fall that we didn’t really know what we were waiting for.

We were living together, both had full time jobs, had pets together, etc etc etc. So, we talked about getting married. Next thing we knew, Zach was buying a ring and asking my dad’s permission (my dad’s a bit traditional). Zach came to see me at work afterward, but I was busy with clients. (It was only later I found out he was planning to propose at work!! Mortifying!!)

When I got home, he pulled out the ring and said, “So, can I give this to you yet?”

I said “You have to ask me!!” He then asked me to marry him. Obviously I said yes.

Wedding Day Details

Caitlin wanted a laid back day to celebrate with her family and friends. That’s exactly what they recieved. The weather was gorgeous for late November. Little Piney Lodge was the perfect scenic venue for this time of year. Even for most of the trees being bare we managed to find spots of color all around the lodge.

Their first look was full of overwhelming love and emotion. Their beautiful and newly adopted dog, Bonnie, was thrilled to join in on the celebration. To add to the gorgeous fall wedding there were s’mores provided for all to enjoy. The wedding was filled with warm and cozy type of love.
