Katie and Ryan had a particular vision for their engagement session: They knew they wanted something fun, and somewhat out of the ordinary.  Katie loved the sessions I had shot on downtown rooftops, and knew she wanted to include that in their session.  We scheduled a late fall engagement session at Lafayette Square Park, and although it is a popular place for photos, it is always a favorite because there are so many options!  Depending on the time of year and the time of day, there’s a completely different look and feel for each season. Her second request was to involve their first child, Olive, their little black cocker spaniel who is so sweet and loves to snuggle.  Since their first date was at a local brew pub and they both just enjoy beer, we went to their favorite brewery, Square One, which is in Lafayette Squre.  I always encourage my couples to really put their personalities into their engagement session by shooting in a spot that means something to them.  It helps set their session apart from the crowd and makes it more personalized to who they are as couple.  For our last stop, we headed downtown to one of my favorite parking garages for a few night shots.

Katie and Ryan are a blast to hang around!  They really know how to make each other laugh, and they are genuinely happy around each other.

I can’t wait for their wedding in November 2016!
