Getting to know your elopement photographer is important, just like getting to know any other vendors you choose to join you on your elopement day. You’ll likely spend more time with your elopement photographer than any other vendors on your elopement day, so you need to make sure you vibe well.
This means choosing someone who is reliable, someone who you genuinely get along with, and someone with whom you share the same interests and vision for the best experience and outcome! So, choose wisely when elopement planning.
If you’re looking for your photographer, before you book a call with me, I’ll give you a little run-down on what to expect from me as your elopement photographer!

A laid-back approach
I am an extremely laid-back person. I cut all the crap and I show up as the real me. I’m not bubbly – I’d say I’m more zen than bubbly. I am quiet and a calming presence for all of my clients. I feel this really benefits my clients when it comes to their elopement because the last thing you want is to feel more stress and anxiety on such a big day and while planning, right?
All I want is for you to feel at peace and know that I am here to help you all the way!
I will watch your story unfold
I am a sucker for all types of unique elopements, so watching your personal story unfold is something I will never get bored of. Having an eye for detail benefits me immensely as your elopement photographer because it means I won’t miss a thing.
All of the details, the important moments, the emotions, and the fun parts will be captured for you to look back on and live all over again!
I will capture every moment and emotion
Following on from the previous point, I will capture every moment and emotion that happens during your day. As an elopement photographer, I know how important this day is for you– you’ve decided to put focus into what you want, to make the day epic.
It’s my role to capture everything, so you can truly relive your day and show it to family and friends!
For instance, the thrill and happiness you feel as you finally make it to the peak of the mountain – this is an emotion worth capturing – it is a significant part of your day.
I will be your cheerleader
Although I am a calming presence, this does not stop me from being your biggest cheerleader during your elopement day. Trust me, this day is super exciting for me too! The adventures and the most incredible couples I get to meet are unexplainable.
Whilst we capture the most stunning portraits with your elopement backdrop I will help you feel confident, comfortable and at ease to capture the best photos of you both – a good elopement photographer will not only capture it, but encourage you and cheer you on, and that’s me!
I will be your friend
You have chosen to elope because it is much more intimate than a traditional wedding, right? So, having an elopement photographer presence may seem a bit daunting because you don’t have your privacy.
You don’t need to worry, as I mentioned I am laid back, so most of the time I will be hiding in the background just concentrating on capturing the best shots– I will keep my distance and I won’t be intruding on your personal conversations.
Plus, if you ever want to be alone, you just have to ask!
With all of this in mind, you need your photographer to be a friend to you. There is nothing more awkward than someone being there who you do not feel comfortable around, or is not on the same vibe level as you.
Getting to know the photographer before you book them is important to ensure you are compatible.
I will guide you
Before your elopement day, on the day of your elopement, and after — As an elopement photographer, I am essential in being a helpful guide for my couples. I pride myself on being knowledgeable about elopement planning and an expert in my local locations so I can be the best help possible.
As a travel advisor, I can tailor travel plans that align with your schedule, interests, and elopement activities, ensuring a seamless flow from departure to return so you can enjoy a personalized travel experience that feels thoughtfully arranged to enhance your overall elopement journey.
That also means I can manage all aspects of travel arrangements for you and your guests, including accommodations, on-ground transportation, and bookings for international flights. Overall, this reduces travel-related stress and anxiety, allowing you to focus on enjoying your engagement and upcoming elopement.
Check out my elopement planning guide. Also, check out my guide to eloping in Joshua Tree and Palm Springs.
Right from the start, I can suggest the best photo spots, the best hikes, and anything else you may need advice on when it comes to elopement planning. That contact remains constant throughout the planning process, so you never feel ghosted.
I offer a documentary approach
I offer documentary photography for your elopement day. Most couples elope because they don’t want the three-ring circus and stress that comes along with a traditional wedding. They also don’t necessarily feel comfortable being the center of attention. For these couples, documentary-style photography is a great approach to capturing their day without compromising on the integrity of the feeling of the day.
Documentary photography rarely involves posed portraits. Instead, it is a way to depict real-life scenarios in a creative manner– so, as an elopement photographer this indicates the approach I give when it comes to capturing your day.
You will be able to look back on it for how it really was– the laughs, the smiles, the adventure and the excitement.
Choose your elopement photographer wisely
Now you know what to expect from me as your elopement photographer, you are one step further to knowing whether you want to book a call with me!
As I said, it is essential that you get to know your wedding vendors before booking them, especially your photographer, who will be with you throughout the whole day.
And when choosing your other vendors, I’ll help you out! I send each of my clients a recommended vendor list, based off your budget and style preferences.
