We had grand ideas for Sarah and Colton’s engagement session, but the weather had other plans. As rain moved in, we shifted our plans so that we could shoot indoors. We ended up having a Contemporary Art Museum engagement session, and I can’t image it any other way.
We noticed that the rain had tapered off, so we dared to venture outside for a few photos at the abandoned church on Spring, just across the street.
The abandoned church on Spring is an insanely popular spot for photos in St Louis, but I still like shooting there. It gets good light no matter what time of day, or what time of year. (In harsh light, the lines/shapes shadows are so much fun to play with!) It’s one of my favorite overcast spots because the gravel on the ground and the stone walls reflect a lot of light back.
Toward the end of our session, the western skies cleared up, and we were treated to the most gorgeous golden glowy sunset on one side and overcast moody skies with a double rainbow on the other.
