Matt and Ellen live in the far away land of Baltimore. Matt is a St. Louis native, and grew up in the Central West End neighborhood. They’re not in town very often, so when they flew to St. Louis for the 4th of July weekend, we squeezed in their engagement session between all the family fun stuff they were planning on for the holiday weekend.
Ellen suggested a Central West End engagement session, since it’s really the only area she’s familiar with in St. Louis, and it’s Matt’s home neighborhood. So we headed out early on the morning of July 4th to get the best light and beat the crowds headed that way for Fair St. Louis.
I’ve never really explored the Central West End neighborhood very much, but I will definitely be doing so more often now! It’s very picturesque, with so many gorgeous buildings and amazing details.

I love interesting doorways, and I especially love red doors!

Isn’t early morning light just beautiful?

The chandelier. So. Awesome.

I’ll probably never be able to find this little spot again, but it’s my favorite from the shoot!

I got patriotic with the flags since it WAS the 4th of July :)

You can always count on being able to find a pop of color in the city!
