Danielle is a photographer friend of mine (check out her lovely work here). She’s getting ready to have baby #3 soon, so Danielle, my studio mates Katie and Jacob, and another friend Lindsay, and I all headed out for a group maternity shoot out! Shooting with other photographers can be a lot of fun… I always feel like I walk away having learned something new. It never ceases to amaze me how different all of our photos are, even when we are shooting the same person in the same location.
Danielle wanted to do something a little different than usual. And since we all love shooting in new spots, we headed to the Benton Park neighborhood for the maternity session shoot out. The Benton Park neighborhood is near the brewery, at 55 and Arsenal. And there actually is a Benton Park in the area as well.
I love exploring little neighborhoods in the city. We have such great architecture here in St. Louis, and it’s not difficult to find awesome textures and pretty light in unexpected places.
Since I was more shooting for myself this go-around, the images are a bit different than my usual. I love them though! I don’t do a lot of silhouettes, but I really need to start doing those more often.
