Ali and Phillip’s Early Spring Lafayette Park Engagement Session took place on one of those first warm days of March. The kind of warm day when you can finally feel the cold of winter being left behind.
Lafayette Park is a little gem of a park that is gorgeous no matter what time of year. On sunny evenings when the trees are bare, the golden glow of the setting sun warms it up. It’s a gorgeous little park that’s very popular with photographers, so on this mild March evening, I was surprised that we were able to snag the bridge. I won’t lie though- the bridge and grotto area are probably the prettiest in the mornings.
If you’re thinking of scheduling a session at Lafayette Park, I definitely recommend a morning session there! It’s much, much less crowded, and the light in the grotto area is perfection.
Ali and Phillip were a breeze to work with. Ali is a total natural in front of the camera, and was able to shake off Phillip’s nerve’s rather quickly. Ali’s simple printed floral dress and Phillip’s dressy casual look worked perfectly with the warm, earthy tones of Lafayette Park in early spring. The pop of color in Ali’s dress and her necklace was just enough.
Lafayette Park is also a nice choice for engagement sessions since it’s so close to Lafayette Square. Lafayette Square is full of gorgeous architecture painted in bright colors. It’s a completely different look than Lafayette Park, but just as beautiful!
