It's less feeling like a supermodel and more about feeling like yourselves, embarking on an adventure...

I create a safe space that allows you to interact with each other and show your true selves. Your smiles will be real, the laughter will be contagious, and your body language and facial expressions will be genuine. You'll feel comfortable and you'll have fun.
I will not interrupt important moments, but if you ever feel like you need more guidance, then let me know! I'm here for you.

Be it the adventure of parenthood, the adventure of marriage, or an actual adventure, I can be your local documentary photographer

Sessions can be done on location, in my studio, or in your home.

Portrait sessions include your session time, my What to Wear guide, and assistance with selecting a location for your shoot.

Portrait Sessions Begin at $350

If you're ever feeling super weird or awkward or like you need more direction during portrait time, then let me know! I'm usually pretty good at being able to feel people out and get them to relax. But it does require trust and work on both of our parts. You have to be willing to give up control. I find that I don't work well with couples who are incredibly self-conscious of their bodies and facial expressions and want simulated / posed candid-looking images verses true candid, documentary images.

1. I like the idea of candid photos, but what if we need more direction?

95% of the time, the answer to that question is no. During our consult call, I'll let you know if you fall into the 5%.
The wedding industry has done a really good job of convincing couples they need to spend money on unnecessary things.

2. Do I need a second photographer?

Yes, I shoot film! If you'd like some film coverage of your wedding day, or during your portrait session, that's something we can talk about!

3. Do you shoot film?

My galleries are large, and I make no secret of that. You can expect around 1500 images, give or take, for a full wedding day. For elopements, there are usually around 250 images per hour. For portrait sessions, there are usually around 300 images for an hour session, and 150 images for a 30 minute session. Image counts are not a guarantee, as every event and session is unique.

4. How many images can I expect in my gallery?

Yes, of course! You can check out my Vendors I Love list HERE.

5. do you have any vendors you can recommend?

Those douchey Devil's Advocate dudes love to ask questions like this. I don't like people like that. I don't like elevator pitches. If I had 30 seconds to say something to convince you to hire me, I'd stay silent. You should choose me because you love my work, because you trust me, and hopefully because we click together. Also, I don't really know how I feel about talking to people in elevators. Particularly men.

6. Why should I choose to work with jaimie?

My official mailing address is in St. Louis. For now. I have a cabin in Twentynine Palms, CA, which is where Joshua Tree National Park is located. My husband and I are outdoors kind of people. We're just not outdoors in the Midwest kinda people. We love the desert because we're only a few hours drive from LA, San Diego, AZ, Vegas, and the list goes on and on. San Jacinto Mountain is just a short drive away. The ride to the top of the mountain (aboard a glass gondola) is fucking amazing, and suddenly you're in a completely different environment. That's how we want to spend our lives.

7. do you live in St. Louis or Joshua Tree?

For a normal wedding day, most couples are usually somewhere between 6-8 hours of coverage. For elopements, it varies depending on what your plans are. (And if you're not sure yet, I can go over options with you!)
I'll help you figure everything out on our phone call, as well as go over any budget and timeline questions you might have.

8. How do we know how much coverage we'll need?

This is a completely valid concern! Back in the day, eloping meant just the two of you running off somewhere. It doesn't mean that anymore. There are quite a few ways to include your family and friends in your wedding plans and still have the wedding day your adventurous heart yearns for!

9. I love the idea of eloping, but I don't want to leave my family out...

For weddings and longer elopements it usually takes me 4-6 weeks to curate your gallery, edit the images, and create your slideshow.  For shorter elopements, it's around 3-4 weeks.
For portrait sessions, my gallery turnaround time is 10-14 days.

10. How long does it take to get our photos back?

Yes, I do engagement sessions! If you're interested in an engagement session, fill out my contact form!
I don't automatically include engagement sessions in all of my collections because not everyone wants an engagement session. If you want an engagement session in your collection, we can do an engagement session! My collections are all just the basics, and then I customize it to fit what you want and need.
Engagement sessions can be done wherever you'd like. If you are located in the Midwest and you'd like a Joshua Tree engagement session, we can arrange a date around my travel schedule.

11. do you do engagement sessions?

I accept cash, check, credit card, Venmo, and PayPal. (And no, I do not charge you anything extra to pay with a credit card!)
Yes, I do offer payment plans! If this is something you are interested in, just let me know
Additionally, each of my clients gets their own online portal where you can access your contract and invoice. You are able to make payments towards the balance at any point in time.

12. how do you accept payment? do you do payment plans?

I specialize in documenting adventure elopements in Joshua Tree, and non-traditional weddings in St. Louis, MO.

I am a calming presence behind the camera. I focus on documentary coverage and candid moments. I create safe spaces to capture genuine moments. Because it's not just about the location of the photos. It's about the people in them.

Trends will come and go, but the story of people will never go out of style.

Whether you have a non-traditional wedding in a giant art deco greenhouse in St. Louis, or you elope in Joshua Tree on a little adventure, I promise to tell the story of you and your wedding day honestly.
